Interview excerpted in Giant Size #1: The New SNIKT
Illustrator Herb Trimpe co-created Wolverine, and is often best-known for drawing the Hulk, but his personal fandom began with EC Comics, and, of all things, Donald Duck. Do not miss a chance to talk with him at a convention.
- EC Comics is a brand best-known for horror, and a style quite unlike the superheroes Herb became famous for drawing.
- Carl Barks deserves his recognition as one of the greatest cartoonists in history, and not just for his signature work on Disney's "ducks" (including his creation of Scrooge McDuck).
- Herb particularly loves the work of Wally Wood, John Severin, and Jack Davis, the latter of whom once did a caricature of Herb in the style of his TV Guide cover art.
- Not only did he draw The Defenders, he thinks they were a more interesting subject than the X-Men.
